National Coastal Erosion Risk Mapping (NCERM) - National (2018 - 2021)

What is the base year for the data and are the erosion distances measured from the start of the epoch or during the epoch ?

Hello Alice,

Thank you for your question.

The Base date is 2010, erosion projections let you know how much you might expect to lose during that epoch i.e. between 2010 and 2030 (20 yrs) erosion will be 3.5 - 7.9m.

I hope that helps

Have Sea Level Rise (SLR) been included on the NCERM 2018-2021 coastal erosion projections?

if positive, what SLR scenario has been used?

Thanks

Hi Andres

We can confirm NCERM projections use UKCP2009 climate change projections. This data set will be undergoing a comprehensive update using UKCP18 over the coming year or so.
