Farm Field Datasets

Hi Everyone,

I am quite new to this.  I am using QGIS 3.12 and looking for Farm Field data for an area in the UK.  Is there such data available and does it provide the owner of the land, use type, etc?

Thanks Gideon

Hi Tom, Thanks for the link.  After sending this question I found the CROME 2019 data, but as you said it is hexes.  Better than nothing but looking at it the coding looks a bit strange on QGIS and a lot of very general allocations. Gideon

Hi Gideon.
Yea the crop map stuff, can look a little odd, certainly at England wide level. I've used it (in qgis) within 5-10 mile radius circles. To get a feel for the land use, i used it in conjunction with aquifer data, to help a client assess spreading of Anaerobic Digestate. So at the local level, certainly if you can colour code the crop types clearly it can be very informative/useful.

Hi Gideon,

Thank you for your question.

The Agri environmental Scheme data can be found on Natural England’s Open Data Portal https://naturalengland-defra.opendata.arcgis.com/.

This will give limited data on the land owner in compliance with GPDR and Data Protection.

I hope this helps
