How do I download multiple Lidar tiles at the same time?

    Follow

To access Lidar and other survey products from the Survey Data Catalogue, you must select your area of interest, click Get Available Tiles, and then then choose your required product, year and resolution. You will then be presented with a list of files – one for each Ordnance Survey tile that contains your chosen data.

It was previously only possible to download one tile at a time. To make it easier to access data for multiple tiles, we have now introduced a "Download All" button. A file for each of the tiles in the list will then download.

If you have used the Data Services Platform before, you must clear the cookies on your browser before the "Download All" button becomes available.

This functionality is only appropriate for relatively small areas. If the area you've selected is too large, you may need to order an offline supply of the data. See here.

    Important: Pop-ups must be enabled

Please note that pop-ups must be enabled on your browser for the Download All function to work. If pop-ups are blocked, then only the data for first tile in the list will download.

To do this in the Microsoft Edge browser:

    1. Open the Settings and More menu (3 dots icon in the top right corner of the browser, or Alt-F) and click on Settings.
    2. Select Cookies and site permissions.
    3. Select Pop-ups and redirects.
    4. Add https://environment.data.gov.uk/ into the Allow section (or you can just turn off the Block switch, although this will affect all websites that you visit).

    In the Google Chrome browser:

    1. Open the Customise and Control menu (3 dots icon in the top right corner of the browser, or Alt-F) and click on Settings.
    2. Select Security and privacy.
    3. Select Site settings.
    4. Select Pop-ups and redirects.
    5. Add https://environment.data.gov.uk/ into the "Allowed to send pop-ups" section (or you can turn on the "Sites can send pop-ups" option, although this will affect all websites that you visit).

Other browsers will have similar settings.

Is there a way to programmatically (using API, curl, wget or something like that) to download the DSM/DTM tiles?

Hi Mohammad, I'm afraid we do not offer this functionality at the moment. If you would like to request larger extents of this data (including full extents available), please raise a request via the Raise feedback/report an issue option available on the top of this screen.

      Thanks,
      Joanna
